Synopsis from Goodreads

A smashing, award-winning debut novel that introduces Charley Davidson: part-time private investigator and full-time Grim Reaper

Charley sees dead people. That’s right, she sees dead people. And it’s her job to convince them to “go into the light.” But when these very dead people have died under less than ideal circumstances (i.e. murder), sometimes they want Charley to bring the bad guys to justice. Complicating matters are the intensely hot dreams she’s been having about an Entity who has been following her all her life...and it turns out he might not be dead after all. In fact, he might be something else entirely.

This is a thrilling debut novel from an exciting newcomer to the world of paranormal romantic suspense.

First Grave on the Right is about a woman who is a private investigator and consultant for the police. A very effective one because of her power. She is not a but THE grim reaper. She sees dead people and she helps them crossover. But when someone is killed, they don't want to leave until the murderer(s) have been caught. So she comes across three dead people whose cases are very well connected, but they don't know who shot them. It is to Charley to figure out the why. Charley also has to find out who the sexy being that has been following her all her life might be. She thinks he is a ghost, but it goes much much deeper than that.

Sweet baby Jesus! Not only is this going on my Favorites list, it is going on my Best Reads EVER list. This is one of the funniest and most thoroughly entertaining books I have ever read. We get a little bit of everything wrapped up in a 300 paged book. Thank you Jones for coming up with such story. And thank you Heidi @ RainyDayRamblings for telling me to read it immediately.

This story was to die for. The plot was this amazing crime mystery involving ghosts of three murdered people. I love the build up and how everything connected. There is also Charley getting visits from the *Big Bad*. She doesn't know who or what it is, but it truly saves her life a lot. I loved the mystery behind it. Man, it is hard not to spoil this, but it is so exciting.

I think if Charley were a real person, we would be the best of friends. Her sassiness and sense of humor is worth raving about and makes her an exceptional character. I loved Charley's actual best friend Cookie. They clicked so well in this book and it added a lot to the book for me. I was so on board for Reyes. He was such an enigma, a very delicious enigma. I love the story Jones gave for him and how he ties to Charley. At first, you think he is just some bad boy, but there is so much more to uncover. It was exciting trying to decipher it all. Truly not what I expected. I am also quite curious about Garrett. He doesn't believe in Charley's powers, but you can tell he has a thing for her. I really enjoyed the dynamics between them. She really knows how to push his buttons.

It is always hard to write about something you absolutely love and I love the hell out of this. Truly one of the greatest books I read. No wonder this book has awards under its belt. Even more incredible, this was Jones very first book. I am flabbergasted. If you have not started this, I urge you to immediately. First Grave on the Right is original, laugh-until-you-piss-yourself funny, and full of action. I love Romantic Suspense and the Paranormal and Jones managed to blend them together perfectly. Do not miss out on this.

Due to the daily spam comments I have been getting lately and to avoid the annoying word verification, Anonymous comments are no more. I do not want bargains on bags, watches, jerseys, boots and other crap. Geez, they could at least spam me with book and movie stuff, I would be somewhat interested LOL! Thank you :D
