Synopsis from Goodreads

Kasie knows who she’s supposed to be. But one passionate night with a mysterious stranger will teach her who she wants to be.

You should sleep with a stranger, her best friend whispers in her ear as they take to Vegas for one last pre-wedding fling. Despite her best intentions, when Kasie Fitzgerald enters the casino and sees him, a man whose tailored clothes belied a powerful, even dangerous, presence, she loses herself to the moment. Maybe it’s the dress, much shorter than she’d ever normally wear, or the Scotch, but something makes her give herself over to him more completely than she's ever done with a man before.

It was supposed to be just one night. But right as she’s thinking she wants more, he shows up in her office with an agenda. As the billionaire CEO of a company that’s engaged her PR firm, his demands just became her reality...and he desires so much more than just some attention in the boardroom.

I really enjoyed the hell out of this book. The plot really left an impact on me. It was emotional and real. Davis has some wonderful writing skills and they way this story was told was beautiful. Seeing Kasie struggle with her decisions and trying to understand herself as well as her situation was a great experience.

Just One Night is the story about a girl named Kasie who seemingly has the perfect life. She is going ring shopping soon with the man of her dreams, she has a great job, and a great family. Kasie seems to have it all. But one night when on a trip to Las Vegas with her best friend, Simone, she meets a man named Robert. He makes her act like no one ever has. She does something she has no intention of doing again. But life takes a turn when the man she was never supposed to see again is in town and wants to work with her. Soon, Kasie's perfect life turns upside and she doesn't know who she is and is afraid of the person she is becoming.

Kasie was an interesting lead for me. This is the first book I have read about someone cheating on their spouse. I don't condone cheating whatsoever. But I am an open minded person and I was able to see why she did it. She doesn't seem to know who she is and through Robert (the man she cheated with), I think she found who she was, but she couldn't take it. Kasie has always done what was expected of her and she feels like she is letting down everyone and she wants to make everyone else happy but herself. I really liked Robert. He was sexy, confident, smart, and knew what he wanted. He was able to read Kasie so quickly and understood her more than anybody else in this book. Not to mention you could tell this wasn't some fling thing for him. From the first night, you can kind of tell he is falling for her.

I was actually not a big fan of Dave's, her boyfriend she cheated on. He seemed liked someone that wanted to keep her in a box. I may be the only one who feels this way, but there was a red flag I had about him. I think subconsciously she knew this as well. When they were together, it felt more like a business arrangement. No sparks at all. Whenever asked about whether she will marry him, she says either he helped get her her job or they have been together for six years. She never says she wants to marry him because she loves him. She says it near the end of the book, but it felt like she was trying to convince herself more than anything. It wasn't natural. Kasie even says that she feels an obligation to be with him.

I did like Kasie, but her inner dialogue got on my nerves. I wanted to slap some sense into her. I didn't like when she listened to her friend Simone. But Simone did make a good point. She tells Kasie she is with Dave for comfort. I think that was Kasie's first big flaw. I felt like she knew what she wanted but was too scared to admit it to herself and needed someone to tell her otherwise. She was a tad bit immature at times, but I think it was more that she wanted to stay the perfect girl for her family. She was so worried about letting her family down. We do get a little back story about Kasie's sister and her downfall though. That story explains why Kasie feels she is obligated to do whatever is expected of her and why she wants to keep her family happy. She wants to stay "the good girl that can do no wrong."

I am dying to see where book 2 will take us. The ending made my heart drop to my stomach. Not due to what happened per se, but how it was handled. I won't say anything, but I will say it makes me like Robert more. This story was suspenseful and I cared for these characters and their story. The plot kept me fascinated and wanting to know where it was going to go. I really enjoyed this story a lot. You may have to put your personal feelings about cheating aside to really enjoy this, but that won't take away from how good this is. Just One Night was super sexy and quite the page turner. I couldn't put this bad boy down. I can't wait to see what will happen next. Highly recommended. And don't listen to the famous motto, it is a lie; what happens in Vegas won't stay in Vegas. It will come back and bite you in the ass.

  1. Great review sweetie. Bummed I saw this on Net Galley and did not grab it. I love these kind of books but have yet to find another one I like except for Beth Kery. None have grabbed my attention like hers. Adding this now to my TBR Pile.

  2. @Wickedly Delicious Thank you hon. Oh you should have. They just put up book 2 which I got as well. Well they are just $.99, so head on over to Amazon for it LOL! I have never read anything by Beth Kery, but she is added to my wishlist now, thank you. Thank you for the comment hon :D

  3. I will request this. This is my kind of contemporary read, very opposite of chick lit.

  4. @Braine TS This was a wonderful read. Definitely different and more intense. Yeah, you missed it. They just added book 2 though. The first one is only $2 on Amazon, so definitely check it out soon. Thank you for the comments hon :D

  5. I know many ways to keep track of correspondence in sms, call... And one of them is . So I installed this application on a sister's smartphone. It's convenient and allows to watch her and her activities outside the home.

Due to the daily spam comments I have been getting lately and to avoid the annoying word verification, Anonymous comments are no more. I do not want bargains on bags, watches, jerseys, boots and other crap. Geez, they could at least spam me with book and movie stuff, I would be somewhat interested LOL! Thank you :D
