Synopsis from Tribute Books

Something evil this way comes...sadly for it, Peter Saints awaits.

Peter Saint's life stinks. But things are about to get much worst. First, his parents are murdered in front of him. Then another victim dies in his arms. Visions plague Peter with warnings that something wants him for a sinister cause. It desires the one thing that Peter refuses to give—his blood. Peter carries within him the one gift or curse that could unlock a secret to destroy the human race. On the run with Angel, a scruffy kid, Peter starts to unravel the mystery. It's the one treasure the heavens sought to hide from the world. Unfortunately, when Peter finds the answer that he hopes will save the girl he loves, he opens the door to a great evil that happens to be salivating to meet him.

Purgatory Reign is a story that follows a guy name Peter. He has terrible nightmares that started after seeing his parents killed in front of him. He has been living in an orphanage ever since. He doesn't take crap from anyone and does what he wants no matter what. One night after he sneaks out of the orphanage (against the rules), tragedy strikes and he doesn't know what to do. But the tragedy causes something to change within Peter and now he is on the run for his life. While on the run, he runs into another guy named Angel. Angel has no where to go and has been on his own, so Peter helps him. But they soon find out that maybe they were meant to find each other. While on their journey, they find that they are special and that Peter is the key that could help...or destroy the world completely. They are on a race to uncover the truth before it is too late.

Goodness, this book was like Harry Potter meets Indiana Jones, but with angels and demons. It was freaking awesome! So much action and mystery, I blasted through this book. Seriously, this needs to be a movie. What the hell Hollywood? We don't need another remake.

I really liked Peter. He was a great hero. He was definitely a tough shell to crack, but his story was understandable. He is still very much heartbroken over his parents' death. I was rooting for him from the beginning and I know you guys will too. I also enjoyed Angel and the secret he was hiding. I was shocked, but it made the story even more enjoyable. It put a smile on my face for sure. Then we also have Kyle. Kyle could be a bit of an annoying smartass, but he will have you cracking up. I love how much him and Peter clashed in the beginning. They still clash, but it was a fun bromance to say the least.

The story was such an adrenaline rush. Every chapter added something new and explosive. We get to follow Peter, Angel and Kyle. They are trying to discover sanctuaries before the demons get to them because they hold secrets that the demons will take full advantage of. Then we also follow the villain, Gavin and his minions. The guy was beyond the evil. He scared the living mess out of me. He wants power. He wants ultimate power. His plan uses and abuses everyone. There are no exceptions; women, children, his own brother Lucien, everyone feels his wrath one way or the other. Lucien was an interesting character in this book as well. I had the feeling he was different from his brother. He is bad, but it seems more as though he has no choice. I hope we see more of him. I think he can redeem himself.

I am trying my best not to spoil you guys with this one. The twists in this book are jaw-droppers. The book gets more and more exciting. The characters have a great dynamic. They were entertaining and helped each other well even if they were arguing. The story is imaginative and fast paced. I would also say this is more of a mature YA read. There are some pretty dark scenes in this book. There isn't any sex, but it is mentioned quite a few times. This book is exciting, full of mystery, and full of surprises. I highly recommend this book to YA and UF fans.

Due to the daily spam comments I have been getting lately and to avoid the annoying word verification, Anonymous comments are no more. I do not want bargains on bags, watches, jerseys, boots and other crap. Geez, they could at least spam me with book and movie stuff, I would be somewhat interested LOL! Thank you :D
