Synopsis from Goodreads

It was definitely not her week. Her uncle had been murdered, her life had been threatened, an old school friend had re-appeared, she had two body guards and a new home. Elizabeth L'Emery was not having a good time as the new owner and chief executive of the largest fabric manufacturer on Xa'an.

Randall Storm had missed his best friend from school, but he had so many secrets that staying away from her had seemed to be the only solution to keep her safe from the uncontrollable lust for blood of his dragon half. But when he was assigned to her protection detail, he didn’t want to be anywhere else.

As they search for ways to control his magic that didn't enslave him - and didn't kill her - more threats came to try and pull them apart. When the opportunity arises to put a weapon of incredible power into her hands, Elizabeth has to decide if the violence of the blood ritual would be worth the sacrifice of becoming the Keeper of the Dragon Sword.

Keeper of the Dragon Sword follows a woman named Elizabeth who has just discovered that her uncle and her father are dead. To makes matters worse, the one behind it may be her very own husband, Mertin. The one to deliver the news happens to be an old best friend named Randall from high school that she has had feelings for. He has been assigned to protect her after they find out that a huge amount of money has been spent to take her out. Not only does Randall have to protect Elizabeth, but he must keep himself in check as well. He obtains a lot of power and if he loses control, he will put a lot of people in danger.

Wow, talk about starting off with a bang. This book grabbed my attention from the get go. Although getting to learn all the characters was a bit overwhelming because they show up all at once, I got used to them quickly. Along with some other people, I realized that this book is a sequel or a companion to another series. If that is the case, I plan on grabbing that series as well because I loved this group of characters.

I loved that instant connection between Elizabeth and Randall. They had amazing chemistry together. Randall definitely has his share of demons and I loved trying to uncover his past. They were both very strong especially Elizabeth. Even though her life is in danger, she doesn't hide and cower in a corner. I love that she is able to keep her head above water. She even goes as far to visit her husband while he is on trial. She faces him and notices too late that he not the man she married. He obviously wasn't the most lovable person, but he seems like a completely different person. He is someone that definitely wants her gone.

Even if you aren't a fan of science fiction, Brandon has managed to add a little something for everyone. This book was full of twists, mystery, fantasy, and magic. I love Brandon's creativity. The world she has put together was amazing and vivid. The book is placed on a planet named Xa'an. The terminology was different, but easy to understand after a while so you won't feel like a fish out of water. The book is so full of action and romance. I won't spoil it or anything, but this book is very easy to love. Brandon is so going on my authors to watch list and she should go on yours as well.

This story is so intriguing. I couldn't put it down. The build up of the story and learning about the characters was an incredible experience. I loved the love story especially with the connection of the dragons. This book was fun, creative, and complex. Highly recommended.

About Travis Simmons

I have always been a do-it-yourselfer. I haven’t had any formal education on writing, and I haven’t been raised around writer types. For that matter, I wasn’t even encouraged to read when I was a kid, even though plenty of people in my family read. When I was a teenager, I discovered Cliff’s Notes on Mythology, and it sparked something in me. It was like a floodgate had been opened, and all of these stories started rushing in. I would get ideas at random times, and I would jot them down. I have a pretty big file system of everything I have ever written. Someday I will get to them and put them all into electronic files. There is some good material in there, but there are a lot of bad stories too.
I started writing when I was thirteen or fourteen. At an early age I was already writing books of Saracin (the world The Bonds of Blood takes place in). The first book I wrote of that place was “The Calling of the Two” (not yet released). While I was writing that, I kept thinking of these characters Jovian and Angelica. I knew they had a part to play in the storyline, but they weren’t going to be in the same series. For that matter, they weren’t even going to be in the same age. As I finished the first draft of “The Calling of the Two” I went on to write the first book of Angelica and Jovian’s story. At that time it was The Mirror of the Moon. Later an editor told me it was so massive that I should make the one volume into two, and so The Bonds of Blood was born, and The Revenant Wyrd Saga went from a planned three to six.
That story has taken many forms until now, and I am sure if I didn’t declare that it was “done” it could continue to transform.
Along the way, I discovered my passion for research. I absolutely love researching. It would be nothing for me to sit for days on end, barely eating, just getting up to take care of necessities, and research really odd theories and stories. I get my ideas from them to be honest. Of course, my idea’s are never the main theme of the research I am doing, but it always seems to come from some obscure topic mentioned while I am researching. For instance one book I am outlining now is based on something I heard while watching Ancient Aliens.
Unlike most authors, I have not always loved reading and writing. I hated it until I was in 7th grade. My teacher wanted us to read the entire semester. We would read a book and write in a journal about it. Back then the teachers were allowed to spend more time on what their passions were, and actually foster something in their students, and she did just that. She made me love reading and writing. She told me to go to her book shelf and pick out a book that I was interested in. I found one of my first loves: David Eddings’ Pawn of Prophecy.
Back then I was in remedial reading, and my teacher (Mrs. Peters) would sit with me for the time I was in her classroom, taking turns reading the story out loud with me. We would read where the adventure was taking Garion, and then we would flip to the beginning and look at the map so we could follow them as well.
I think it was at that point, getting lost in a book I love to this day, that I knew I had to do this. I had to create the same magic for others that Mr. Eddings created for me.
At times it is boggling. I have three series of books started, and 2 more forming in my mind (and outlined on the computer). At this point I have to step back and finish the ones I have started before I can let myself move forward.
I feel that I am blessed in being able to write, and forging a life of my passion. It is tough at times, but that is what makes the payoff all the sweeter. The writing business is a huge adventure, trying to figure out what to do and what not to do; when to do things and when not to do anything. Currently I am planning the release of the second book to “The Bonds of Blood”. This is the first time I am armed with the knowledge of what I must do for a book release, and I finally understand why it nerves so many authors up, but it is that excitement that makes me love writing. Every time I hear a reader I don’t know praise my work, it makes my heart race and brightens my day.
Travis is the author of The Bonds of Blood, the first book in his epic fantasy series The Revenant Wyrd Saga. He has also written a young adult novel called A Lament of Moonlight which is book one of his pre-apocalypse series The Harbingers of Light. He is currently seeking publication for the first book of a third series, a zombie novel called Desolation. When he isn’t writing he is helping his family and trying to live a normal, under the radar life. His interests lie in cooking, gardening, green living, and human rights advocacy. He is a huge supporter of the Trevor Project and all agencies that seek to preserve natural resources and protect pets from abuse.”

How can you make a choice between saving your people and destroying the one you love?

A millennia-long war between two immortal races is about to come to an end. Now, the few remaining free Amiti are making a final attempt to strike back. The Queen of the Amiti has been proclaimed a traitor and executed. Synopsis from JKS Communications
Catherine Boyd will do anything to regain custody of her young son… Even reconcile with the husband accused of killing their son’s twin.
Catherine graduates from college, eager to start a new life with her six-year-old son, Drew.  But when she tries to bring him home, her parents refuse to relinquish control of the grandson they’d raised.
Wrongly accused of a horrible crime, Thomas Boyd has buried himself in his career, determined to forget his painful past and the family he lost.  But now, five years later, Catherine is back, requesting his help to regain custody of their son — custody he thought she had.
Though older and wiser, when courtroom battles reveal lies and secrets and generations of pain, will Thomas and Catherine find more tragedy and loss, or will old wounds finally heal?

He Belongs To Me is a story that follows a woman names Catherine and her struggle to get her son back. After a tragic death, Catherine and her husband split. She is struggling to get her life back on track. So Catherine agrees to give her parents temporary custody of Drew while she gets her life together. But she is thrown for a loop when she finds out her parents have taken full custody of her son. Catherine now has to do whatever it takes to get her son back and that starts with trying to reconcile with her estranged husband, Thomas.

I really enjoyed this book. It surpassed my expectations and more. Catherine definitely has the entire world on her shoulders. She may come from a rich family, but her family controlled her every move. They still want to control her life. The only way that she can see her son is if she moves back to live with them. Catherine is done with her parents overbearing ways. They treat her like she won't amount to anything unless it is what they say is right for her. They believe they are better suitable parents for Drew because they have the money to get him what he wants. Catherine just received a degree in art and her parents don't think that is good enough to make a proper living. I felt so bad for Catherine. You think you have it bad. Then we have Thomas. I wasn't sure if I liked him at first. I mean, he abandoned his wife and kid! But I understood after I heard his story and what he has been through due to Catherine’s parents. Wow, just wow. I love how emotional and in depth Rizzo made this read. You will be fully invested in this story and its characters.

The story really packs a punch from the beginning. We learn why Thomas and Catherine are estranged and it is huge. I couldn't believe how dark that turned. Catherine accuses Thomas of something she knows he didn't do and he paid the price for it. He feels like a failure and couldn't face Catherine and their son anymore. So he left them, but things change when Catherine comes for a favor. In order for her to get Drew back, her and Thomas have to live together and pretend to be a couple until they get full custody of Drew. But the story gets even darker when we start learning things from Catherine's parents. Oh my goodness, the things these people do. Seriously, Catherine's parents are the scum of the Earth.

I don't want to give anything away, but this is a story you should be reading. It is beautifully written and takes you on such an emotional rollercoaster. It focuses so well on tragedy and second chances. You will be rooting for our main characters like nobody's business especially Catherine. I love that even though her parents seem like demons, she didn't give up on trying to get her son back. She wasn't going to let them control her anymore no matter what tricks they may pull. I love that this story felt real. This is not some lighthearted story that would most likely feature Katherine Heigl. Rizzo bears so much in this book. From the dysfunctional family to the dysfunctional marriage. It is when we get to see where it all comes from and then seeing how they can repair it (or of they can). I loved this book. Not my usual type of read, but I am very happy I took the plunge. Highly recommended.

About Theresa Rizzo

I was born and raised in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. Growing up in an Irish-Italian family was never dull or quiet. I have four siblings, two sisters and two brothers. My mother was a nurse and my father a general surgeon, so my interest in medical issues is hardly surprising.

As a youngster, I struggled with mild dyslexia. I couldn't read until third grade, but after years of remedial work, the wondrous world of books opened up to me and I've been a voracious reader ever since. Though possessing a fertile imagination, my practical side never even considered pursuing a writing career, because I'm too fond of eating. So I became a registered nurse.

After college, I married my high school sweetheart and had four children. Though I adore my kids and am very proud of them, parenting requires a lot of patience-- not exactly my strength, so I began writing. Writing gave me a creative, intelligent outlet that I needed, and it was far less expensive than therapy and a defense attorney. Writing allows me to create wonderful characters who, if they disappoint me, I can make their lives miserable--literally-- or simply kill them off, without going to jail! How great is that?

We lived in the Chicago, then San Diego, before settling in beautiful Colorado. We absolutely love the mountains! When not skiing, hiking, or writing in the mountains, I love to play tennis, take long walks, work in my gardens, decorate our house, read, work with my tile mosaics, and crochet.

It's true that writing is a lonely endeavor. Learning the craft and the publishing industry is a lengthy, complex process made much more fun when I joined the Romance Writers of America, and later, the Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers and the Crested Butte Writers

I've been fortunate to make friends with many interesting people. Writers are a remarkable, entertaining breed who possess quick wits and huge hearts. They've enriched my life immensely and I'm very grateful to each and every one as you can see is you watch my writing journey video.
