Guest Post by Darlene Kuncytes

Hi all,
When I first started this journey I was a nervous wreck.  I have been writing my entire life, and have always had a love for all things romance.  Music, life, people - even scenery inspires me.  My mind just goes off on its own and that is it! I am lost in my story and character’s.  I really love all genres of books – but I guess romance is close to my heart - ever since I read my first Danielle Steele novel.  It was The Promise and I stayed up all night until I finished it – and then I was hooked.
My debut Novella – A Vampire’s Saving Embrace, came to me - believe it or not when I was stuck in traffic on my way home from work one night.  I was listening to the radio and just thinking and it started from there.  That happens a lot with me.
My characters become so very real to me and I guess there is a part of me in them.
The first vampire novel I ever read was Stephen’s Kings ‘Salem’s Lot” and it scared me to death! I still get the shivers thinking about the little Glick boys tapping on the window at night – but I do love a good horror novel – so I guess it was inevitable to combine the paranormal and romance for me.
Music inspires me a lot.  I will hear a song and stories just pop into my head. I love Michael Buble’ and Bruno Mars, Maroon Five and so many others!
I am often asked to let people in on some interesting facts about me – well first and foremost is that I have a very odd sense of humor! I will find the funny in the most ordinary things – mostly myself – and just laugh and laugh.  I also LOVE to sing at the top of my lungs in the car. I could care less who sees me!
This has been just SUCH an amazing road, and my lifelong dream has been fulfilled. I have always wanted to be a published author – and when I read some of the reviews – I literally get breathless, not to mention the fans and friends that I have made. I love meeting new people. It is exciting and so fun!
In the spare time that I have, I foster puppy mill rescues.  I have such a love for animals and never want an animal to suffer.
I had a wonderful woman help me with the trailer for my book and I just love it! It’s on my facebook page.
My main character is a witty, fun – strong character that I admire so much! Yet she is vulnerable and unsure as I think we all are to a point. I’ve been asked if Desmond was based on anyone in my life and I have to admit in some small ways yes.  I think in past relationships we always carry over something from that person that when you think of them you just kind of sigh.  Luckily – that not so great things fade with time! Lol.
I hope this has helped you to get to know me, and I look forward to getting to know all of you.
Thanks so much! And much love!

 Synopsis from Goodreads

Abigail Montgomery was happy with her life. She was independent, strong, and had managed on her own for a very long time. That was, until the dark, handsome Desmond LaGrange showed up at the bar where she worked. How could she know that this mysterious man would end up saving her from the evil that she didn't even know existed? And why was she so drawn to him? Why did he make her body heat with just a simple look? Desmond LaGrange was fighting a past he was trying hard to forget. But when he see's the beautiful Abby working behind the bar - something deep inside compels him to get closer. The only question is why? And when he saves her from danger - can he resist the strong pull between them to let her go when the time comes? Or will the passion that she ignites in him be his end?

A Vampire's Saving Embrace is an amazing read for Paranormal Romance lovers. We follow a young woman named Abigail (Abby) who is a bit of a hermit. She likes to stand on her own two feet, but feels very vulnerable given her ex-boyfriend's treatment of her. One night after work, she knows something is not right. Her fears are confirmed when someone is following her through the park. Worse is she doesn't think it is human. But she he saved by the gorgeous man that seems to have been checking her out the past couple of nights. She soon finds out that there is much more in the world than she thought and she plays a great part in it.

I really enjoyed this book a lot. It was a fast read full of demons, vampires, werewolves and more. I loved the romance and the mystery. I enjoyed the characters a lot in this book. Abby was a good lead for the most part. I know she is strong. She has to be given her past and what she has gone through. But when she meets Desmond, she was a bit too trusting. When he reveals some pretty big secrets, she accepted it so quickly.  I mean, yes he is very hot, but I would have been a bit suspicious. He says he is a vampire and she just accepts it. At least ask him to prove it first. "Show me those fangs!" See? Done. I loved her, but still. Desmond was smoking hot and I enjoyed him a lot. I loved that he didn't keep the secrets about Abby from her. He told her plenty from the get go. I liked that. He is very protective and possessive of her very quickly. He is a monster, but I love watching him conquer the new feelings he is developing because of Abby. And actually vice versa for Abby.

I loved the dialogue between the characters as well. Abby had me smiling along with her best friend Kat. Kat was a lot of fun and I hope we get a book of her and Luke. Luke is a werewolf and Desmond's best friend. Another character that was swoon worthy for sure. I loved all the things Kuncytes added in this story. Abby has found out something about her family and that has made her a big target. But this book is more romance than anything which I don't mind. Desmond and Abby were attracted to each other from the beginning. But they both have issues they need to overcome them first. I loved the push-and-pull between them. Just makes the steamy scenes that much more enjoyable. Trust me, it was worth it.

The book is about 150 pages, so it is fast. We learn plenty all within the first two chapters really. But the book has a nice pace and I don't feel like anything was left out. This is Kuncytes debut and she definitely has major talent. I can't wait to see where this story goes. There were a few grammar issues, but nothing big. The story is engaging and well developed. I loved the world we were given and the characters within. If you are a fan of PNR, this is worth checking out.

    1. You are so welcome hon. This book was awesome. I hope you enjoy it. Good luck hon :D

Due to the daily spam comments I have been getting lately and to avoid the annoying word verification, Anonymous comments are no more. I do not want bargains on bags, watches, jerseys, boots and other crap. Geez, they could at least spam me with book and movie stuff, I would be somewhat interested LOL! Thank you :D
