Synopsis from Goodreads

She has never feared the walking dead. It’s the power required to reanimate the dead that startles her, seduces her. The power that dwells inside her…and is growing.
For Professor Ruby Montagne, being a necromancer has brought her nothing but heartache, and she walked away from that part of her life long ago. However, her quiet existence in San Francisco is shattered when she stumbles upon the body of a slain witch, and the supernatural community insists she transform him into a revenant to track the killer. But his murder was just the beginning, and Ruby soon realizes that the stakes are higher than anyone can imagine—and that revenants have nasty minds of their own.
Now demonic creatures have escaped into the human world, and zombies once again walk the streets. For humanity’s sake, Ruby forms an unlikely alliance with a witch, a zombie, and Ewan March, a demon warrior who sets her senses on fire.
She’s always distrusted demons and Ewan is no exception, but circumstances push them closer together, and Ruby not only finds it harder to resist him, she isn’t sure she even wants to. But she suspects his job of patrolling the portal separating humans and demons conceals a dark and deadly past that may consume them both.
With events spiraling out of control, Ruby unravels a plot that not only threatens the human and demon realms, but puts Ruby’s very soul in jeopardy. Because when the dead walk, no one is safe. Especially Ruby.

The Necromancer's Seduction follows a woman named Ruby who is a professor. She teaches anthropology and lives a pretty quiet life. If she didn't, she knows she would go mad. Ruby is a necromancer who hates to use her powers. Yet she is always asked from the fae to Ninjas (yes, Ninjas) to bring back the dead for any reason under the sun. She never gives in though until danger strikes. When her best friend and witch, Kara, asks to assist her in finding something from a fellow member of her coven, they stumble on something they didn't expect. Ruby may be supernatural, but she tries to stay clear of the supernatural world as much as possible. This situation won't let especially since it seems to hit close to home. She now has to push her powers to their limits and hope not to die in the process.
I really loved our main character Ruby. She is a necromancer, but she tries to avoid her supernatural as much as possible because of the danger it brings. I loved watching her on this journey, going from timid to a strong and powerful. But she was able to keep a great sense about her. She doesn't get lost in her discoveries and she makes quite a few throughout the book. Ruby is definitely someone to root for. We also have Kara, Adam, and Ewan, especially Ewan. Ewan is a sexy demon warrior that definitely has his eyes on Ruby, but she tries to avoid him all she can. She definitely has a thing for him, but again, supernaturals are a no-no. The chemistry between these two was smoldering. They were incredible and I can't wait to see what it in store for them. Oh man, you have no idea.

This story was fun, suspenseful and fast paced. It was a great balance of mystery, romance and paranormal. Sebastian waste no time getting into the adventure of this book. I was hooked from page one. A simple act of, well, breaking and entering (it is not as bad as it sounds at first) turns deadly. Ruby is then thrust into the world she worked so hard to avoid when it becomes apparent her grandmother has kept a lot from her. Cora, Ruby's grandmother and also a necromancer, was very popular in the supernatural world. Ruby knows Cora had a lot of power and was always used for them, but she slowly learns things about her she never saw coming. It was a great experience learning these things along with Ruby. I love that this was more Urban Fantasy than Paranormal Romance as well. I love them both as you all know, but I was in the mood for some action and I got it. I won't reveal where this book goes, of course, but it was a great ride.

I am in love!!! I am beginning to notice that I am a bit partial to PNR reads with demons as the main love interest. I honestly can't explain what it is, they just drive me crazy. I love it. Sebastian definitely has herself a new fan for sure. This is her debut and what a debut it is. If you are looking for a major supernatural fix with zombies, demons, revenants (zombies with their souls intact), and more wrapped in a fast and fun read, you have found the perfect book. I am so excited for the sequel. It can't get here fast enough. Highly recommended.

  1. Thanks for the feature on your blog today! I'm delighted you enjoyed Necromancer's Seduction. I just turned in book two to the publishers and, well, all I can say is Ruby is in for quite a ride :)

    1. Thank you again hon. I will keep my eyes peeled. I am so excited :D

Due to the daily spam comments I have been getting lately and to avoid the annoying word verification, Anonymous comments are no more. I do not want bargains on bags, watches, jerseys, boots and other crap. Geez, they could at least spam me with book and movie stuff, I would be somewhat interested LOL! Thank you :D
