Synopsis from Amazon
Some souls are forged in fire.
Some hearts are packed in ice.
Some elements were never meant to be combined…
BLOOD REDEMPTION ~ a journey of elemental darkness and primordial light.

Saber Alexiares is no ordinary vampire. He is like a cruel, fire-breathing dragon. Reared in the bowels of the colony by Dark Ones, he has no conscience, no compassion, and no saving grace. Captured by the enemy, he is sentenced to execution by sunlight only to discover that his body will not burn — he isn’t who he thought he was. He was stolen at birth. He was reared by the wrong house. And the sunlight isn’t going to kill him because he does have a soul.

Vanya Demir is the very heart of goodness and light, an ancient female from a magical race, the progeny of humans and celestial deities before they were cursed by the Blood. With her deep-rooted sense of duty; naïve upbringing; and tragic, personal history, she has unknowingly packed her heart in ice and dedicated her life to the service of the Vampyr. She is wholly unprepared to face a fire-breathing dragon.

When their paths converge beneath a Serpens Blood Moon, they will each have thirty days to reconcile the irreconcilable, to confront the primordial darkness that threatens to destroy them both. Can a being lost in darkness for eight-hundred years ever find its way to the light? Can a heart that’s been buried for as long as it can remember risk the ultimate in betrayal and damnation simply for the hope of BLOOD REDEMPTION?

Working With a VERY BAD BOY Hero

I knew from the moment Saber Alexiares emerged from the Dark Ones colony (in Blood Destiny, book #1) that he would one day have his own book. There was just something disturbingly compelling about him (other than the obvious, of course, the fact that he lived with heartless, soulless demons. And was one of them.)

What I didn’t know was that he would be such a challenge to bring into the light of day. All the male protagonists in the Blood Curse Series have a shadow nature: they can be loyal or deadly, gentle or fierce, kind or ferocious. But Saber? He was just dark, dark, dark.

Lost.
Angry.
Disturbed???

As I worked to flesh him out, I realized there was a very fine line between revealing nature and respecting nurture, maintaining realism while suspending belief -- encouraging a character to evolve (please, just a little, or my readers and I will both detest you) while allowing him to maintain his authenticity. In other words, what in the world had I gotten myself into?

But, as is often the case, once a book takes off, the character takes the lead, and the story begins to unfold naturally. In Saber’s case, this happened in very small, painstaking increments. And the heroine had everything to do with the hero’s progression – which was just a win-win for me as a writer. By the end of BLOOD REDEMPTION, I was finally able to take a BAD BOY -- who was so bad he defied reason, logic, or even hope -- and end up with a bad boy, who was at least layered, complex, and interacting in a meaningful way with other characters.

The challenge was frustrating. The result was exhilarating. And the outcome was…well, BLOOD REDEMPTION, #5 in the Blood Curse Series ;-).

About Tessa Dawn

Tessa Dawn grew up in Colorado where she developed a deep affinity for the Rocky Mountains. After graduating with a degree in psychology, she worked for several years in criminal justice and mental health before returning to get her Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management.

Tessa began writing as a child and composed her first full-length novel at the age of eleven. By the time she graduated high-school, she had a banker’s box full of short-stories and books. Since then, she has published works as diverse as poetry, greeting cards, workbooks for kids with autism, and academic curricula. The Blood Curse Series marks her long-desired return to her creative-writing roots and her first foray into the Dark Fantasy world of vampire fiction.

Tessa currently splits her time between the Colorado suburbs and mountains with her husband, two children, and “one very crazy cat.” She hopes to one day move to the country where she can own horses and what she considers “the most beautiful creature ever created” -- a German Shepherd.

Writing is her bliss.

You know you are reading a book written by a Great Author when your emotions are all over the place.
When you have to put the book down just to get your emotions in check. When you have to put a book down just to get your breathing back to normal.
These Vampyr's are not your run of the mill, there is no other Vampyr book(s) out there that even come close to this book.

  10. Step into the world of the houses of Jadon and Jaeger where you will meet the Silvasi brothers and the other residents of Dark Moon Vale.
I am so pleased to be able to tell you about this series. It is Dark Fantasy at its best. Tessa Dawn has created a world full of Danger and excitement that starts with page one and doesn’t end until the last word in the book. Blood Redemption is the story of Saber who was raised as a Dark One believing he had no soul for over 800 years but finds out he is not who he thought he was. The old question of nature vs. nurture is at question. Can Saber who has lived and breathed evil for all these years actually be redeemed? Should he live or die? Will the one person meant for him by the gods save him? Things are not always as they seem. We think we know Saber, but do we? This book will have you crying, laughing, angry and praying that the agony for this character will stop and yet you will ask yourself the question, Can he be saved? Saber says in the book “Breathe for me” and you will find yourself holding your breath and waiting for what happens next. Don’t deprive yourself of one of the best series I have ever found. Blood Redemption is out now and everyone is finding out how great this series is. Come with me to Dark Moon Vale. You will be glad you did. Order yours today and find out what everyone is talking about…

Due to the daily spam comments I have been getting lately and to avoid the annoying word verification, Anonymous comments are no more. I do not want bargains on bags, watches, jerseys, boots and other crap. Geez, they could at least spam me with book and movie stuff, I would be somewhat interested LOL! Thank you :D
