Synopsis from Goodreads

Margarita and Bindi have big plans for the Fourth of July, involving borrowed bicycles, a geocaching power trail, live podcasts, and plenty of fun. But their day quickly goes awry when they stumble upon what looks like a murder in progress.
Strange rivalries and secret alliances test Margarita’s puzzle-solving skills, and Bindi suffers a rather painful setback when she comes face to face with someone she never thought she’d see again.
The overly stoic sheriff can’t be in two places at once, so the girls need to figure out whodunit and rescue the next potential victim before the explosive finale.

Nine Feet Under is the third book in Talbot's Caching Out series and boy what a sequel it was. This time around we follow our favorite duo when they go on a trail through the forest for the Fourth of July. Things are going fine until they stumble on tragedy after tragedy. Margarita and Bindi must do what they do best and figure out who is behind a strange incident that makes no sense. Not only must they deal with another murder, they also have to deal with a past that shows up out of the blue and try to find out why they are there.

I really enjoy the series. I think this may be my favorite so far. Our characters are as amazing as ever. I am such a big fan of Margarita and Bindi especially Bindi. I love that we get more story from her this time around. We learn more about her past and what a dark past it is. For someone so strong, you never would have known the nightmare she had to live through. I love that we got to see that contrast. It made me love her more. She is an absolute favorite. I love how unpredictable she is. You never know what she will do or say next. I especially love one scene where she helps stick up for a young girl while they were both in a hospital. That was amazing. I love that even though she was high on Vicodin for most of the book, she was still quick as whip. I also love Margarita. She is smart and always willing to help those need which is why she is so good with mysteries. I love that we get a bit more about her relationship with her ex-husband, Jake, who died (but the body was never found). We see that her demons are weight for her and her new found relationship to Drew. We don't get as much of him in the book given his new promotion. But the book had plenty to follow.

Not only are our duo amazing, but the book introduces some characters I found very interesting. We have Garrick and his brother Shannon (I won't tell you much, but you will be floored when you find out where they fit in). Garrick was a bit hold and cold for me. One moment I liked him and the next I wanted to punch in his face (like Margarita). Shannon just always seems to be in competition with him. We also meet Sheriff Lopez who happens to be quite sexy. I liked him a lot even though he was way too serious sometimes. But there was a chemistry there between him and the characters (specifically Bindi).

I like the way the story developed. It all starts off so innocently until a fatal accident takes place. A man named Felix seems to be getting stabbed by his son, but it turns out he is trying to use his Epipen on him. His dad is having an allergic reaction, but the pen has stopped working. It seems like it was an accident, but then it is discovered someone has stolen the man's thumbs. Why would someone need a dead man's thumbs and what a consequence to get them when he is dead? I really love the mystery here. Talbot had me guessing up to the end. Every time I thought I was right, she threw for a loop. Talbot really knows how to keep me on my toes.

Another enjoyable read from Talbot. She really knows how to captivate an audience. The characters are amazing as always. I love following them on their crazy adventures and getting to know more about them with each book. I have really grown attached to them. The stories are always so much fun and I love joining in the mystery. These books can be read as a standalone, but I do recommend reading it as a series just to get invested in the characters more. You just learn so much about them and their stories with each book, it just makes you love the series more. I definitely recommend this for someone who wants a fast, energetic, and suspenseful read. You have to check this out.

    1. You are so welcome. Man, I am so slow with these comments sometimes LOL! I am so glad to be a fan hon. I am glad I made your day. Thank you again :)

Due to the daily spam comments I have been getting lately and to avoid the annoying word verification, Anonymous comments are no more. I do not want bargains on bags, watches, jerseys, boots and other crap. Geez, they could at least spam me with book and movie stuff, I would be somewhat interested LOL! Thank you :D
