After months of no work, interdimensional bounty hunter Ronin Meyers jumps at the chance to locate an incubus who’s using succubi as murder weapons. Faced with deportation to hellish Infernum if he fails, Ronin will stop at nothing to take out the incubus and anyone else involved. Even the beautiful succubus who stole his heart—and nearly his life—during the most mind-blowing hour of his existence.

Night after night, Amara and her fellow succubi are forced to extract special abilities from the strongest Otherworlders for their psychotic master’s growing collection. When the gorgeous angel-demon hybrid she believed to be dead captures her, Amara is both stunned and elated.

But the happily-ever-after Amara’s dreamed about will have to wait. Before she and Ronin can find salvation, they must bring down the madman hell-bent on destroying everything—and everyone—they love. And Ronin and Amara are at the top of his list.

Interview

OBVB: Welcome to Offbeat Vagabond, Rosalie! To get things started, can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

RL: Thanks for having me! I am the author of the paranormal romance series Demons of Infernum, which features four half-demon brothers who work as interdimensional bounty hunters in modern-day NYC. The demons in my world aren’t evil creatures from Hell, but rather a race of beings who’ve come to Earth from another dimension. Most of the species who have traveled to Earth are law-abiding citizens, but every now and again a fugitive goes on the loose...and that’s where our heroes come in. They hunt down the baddies and keep our streets safe.

OBVB: What first attracted you to the Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance genres?

RL: I’ve been fascinated with the paranormal for as long as I can remember. It all started with my childhood love of Bunnicula, the vegetable juice-sucking bunny!

OBVB: I read that you majored in Anthropology and Classics, what was the coolest thing you learned?

RL: That there are so many great stories to be found in the ancient Greek and Roman cultures. Zeus, Aphrodite, Ares God of War…these all come from the Greeks. And much of our modern-day fiction has its roots in this mythology as well!

OBVB: Touch of the Angel is your latest release, right. Can you tell us what the third book of your Demons of Infernum series is about?

RL: Sure! Ronin is a half-demon, a man with a tortured past. He and his three half-brothers work as interdimensional bounty hunters in New York City, partially in effort to redeem themselves over the actions of their evil father. Ronin is shocked to discover the succubus he desires is enslaved to the incubus he’s hunting. Once he learns Amara is an unwilling pawn, he determines to free her…even if she doesn’t feel she’s worthy of such a fate. But Ronin and Amara will have to overcome all odds in order to find their happily ever after.

OBVB: You also had another release this year, Angel's Kiss from The Fallen Warriors series. Was there a book more challenging to write this time around?
RL: Every book I write is more challenging than the last. I find that, for me, it’s easy to start a series. New characters, new ideas. The pages fly by. But once I’ve gotten deep into a series, it becomes harder and harder to write. Not only do I have to deal with the characters headlining that particular book, but I also need to ensure that my side characters, who were main characters in previous books, stay true to their personalities. It’s so hard!

OBVB: How did you celebrate once the books were published?

RL: By writing some more! Lol. I’ve had such a tight writing schedule that there hasn’t been much in the way of celebrating. That’s not all bad. I love writing. I love exploring new worlds. Every day is a gift.

OBVB: Were there any characters more challenging to write than others?

RL: I found Amara, the heroine of Touch of the Angel, difficult to write because of her tortured past. But that’s what makes her so interesting!

OBVB: Who is your favorite character and why?

RL: I must admit that Taeg, Ronin’s brother and the hero of Mark of the Sylph (Demons of Infernum #2), is my personal favorite. That’s because of his sarcastic sense of humor and the smartass T-shirts he likes to wear. (Some examples are: (1) Real Men Don’t Follow Directions; (2) Why Do Today What You Can Put off Until Tomorrow?; and (3) Awesome in Bed...I Can Sleep for Hours.)

OBVB: If you can write any book outside of the Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Romance genres, what would it be and why?

RL: I think there may be a contemporary romance hidden inside me somewhere. But I have too many paranormal stories floating in my head to indulge it at this point in time!

OBVB: When you are not writing, what do you do in your free time?

RL: I love to watch movies, exercise (Ballet Beautiful is my current work-out obsession), and go to the beach!

OBVB: Is there anything you must have or do when you start writing?

RL: Some chocolate is always nice.

OBVB: Last but not least, are there any other projects you are working on? Is there anything you can tell us about Call of the Siren, the fourth book in the Demons of Infernum?

RL: Yes, Call of the Siren features the youngest half-brother, Dagan, and his love interest Iolina. Things really come to a head in this book, so there will be a lot of obstacles in their way! The story will take them from NY to Romania, and it’s sure to be a thrilling ride.

OBVB: Thank you so much for visiting Offbeat Vagabond hon. Hope to have you here again, Rosalie.

RL: Thanks so much!

About Rosalie Lario

Rosalie Lario is the award-winning, paranormal romance author of the Demons of Infernum and the Fallen Warriors series. Rosalie double majored in Anthropology and Classics as an undergraduate student, and briefly considered becoming an archaeologist before realizing they don’t actually live the life of Indiana Jones. So what was a classical geek armed with a lot of useless knowledge to do? Become a lawyer, of course!

After attending law school in Florida, she practiced real estate law for several years before finally admitting to herself that negotiating contracts wasn’t nearly as fun as dreaming up stories. She never imagined all the mythology she studied would one day make the perfect fodder for the paranormal romance stories she now dreams up!

When not writing, she enjoys spending time with her family in their home state of Florida.

Due to the daily spam comments I have been getting lately and to avoid the annoying word verification, Anonymous comments are no more. I do not want bargains on bags, watches, jerseys, boots and other crap. Geez, they could at least spam me with book and movie stuff, I would be somewhat interested LOL! Thank you :D
