Synopsis from Goodreads

Lex Talionis (n.)- The law of retaliation, whereby a punishment resembles the offense committed in kind and degree.

Two wrongs. One right. He met her under the worst circumstances. She was still married. To the man who'd stolen from his company. But none of that would matter, because Chase would have her. At any cost.

To Chase Blaine, it really was that simple. Douglas Colton had stolen millions from Chase’s company. He had to pay. Chase had every intention of cornering the bastard and making sure he ended up in jail.

Then he came face-to-face with Douglas’s wife, Aria. One look at her changed all his plans, warping them into a much darker and perverse plot to get his revenge.

He would offer Douglas his exchange for a single date with his wife.

To a man like Chase, a man that hadn’t truly felt emotions in a long time, Aria’s presence soon became more addicting than a drug. A problem considering that she might never forgive him for blackmailing her, despite the fact that at times she seems just as unwillingly fascinated by him as he is by her.

A Debt Repaid is going on my favorites list. Plain and simple. I fell in love with this instantly. The story is quite an emotional rollercoaster. Both of our lead characters have some demons that have held that back for so long, it was hard for them to accept anything out that. Aria is a good wife to her husband, Douglas. Douglas, however, is a bulls**t husband. He has been stealing from the company he works for (somewhere in the millions) and his actions are about to catch up with him. Chase, Douglas' boss, sees a way to help Douglas and himself. He wants to go on one date with Aria and in return, Douglas debt will be paid and he won't go to jail. But that doesn't exactly go according to plan.

Aria is a strong woman to everyone except her good-for-nothing husband. When she hears about the proposition, she immediately confronts Chase. She knows he is filthy rich and can't believe he will blackmail her husband just to get to her. But on top of that, Aria is sickened at how attracted she feels to Chase. I loved the instant attraction these two had especially since Douglas was in the room. He really was scum. He obviously sees that Chase wants his wife. Aria, of course, was pissed at Chase about his offer. I must say, I was more angry her husband. He wasn't even man enough to tell Chase "no" about his offer. He was so worried about saving his own skin, he pretty much offered up Aria. He was so confident that she would never leave or cheat on him. It made me feel more sorry for Aria and her situation. Her husband really thought so little of her, she was more the loyal pet than his wife.

I did want to slap Chase at first because his proposition was insane and vengeful. But he really had a strong attraction to Aria and he really wanted to get to know her. We quickly learn about Chase's past in the book which I liked. I loved that we didn't have to wait long for that. His past really made sense to how he acts. He cuts himself off emotionally, but Aria is making him feel things he has never felt. It goes the same for Aria since Douglas was the only man she has ever been with. But you will fall for Chase hard especially when it comes to a woman named Lori. Chase was like a robot until Aria and it was so beautiful see him grow and grow every chapter. Again, same goes for Aria. She needed a backbone where Douglas was concerned. I love that she sees that she needs to find out who she is and not live under Douglas's worthless thumb. I actually cheered, I was so happy. About time she got rid of the trash.

I do commend Aria for staying faithful to Douglas (even though Douglas clearly wasn't) while Chase was in the picture. It was so sad seeing a strong woman so confused like that because of her husband. The tension between Chase and Aria was so hot, it was steaming up my ereader. They were amazing together. But as great as they are, they still have plenty of things they must deal with first before they are really committed. That ending said it all. I just started screaming, "No! Are you nuts? What the hell are you doing?!"

This was such a great read. This is my second read by Blanco and again, she has knocked it out of the park. She really knows how to get your attention. The characters were so engaging and I loved them the more and more I read on. The sequel is going to be explosive. I am dying for it. This is a fast read that will have you going through every emotion in the book. Highly recommended!

About N. Isabelle Blanco

N. Isabelle Blanco was born in Queens, NY (USA). At the age of three, due to an odd fascination with studying her mother's handwriting, she began to read and write. By the time she'd reached kindergarten, she had an extensive vocabulary and her obsession with words began to bleed into every aspect of her life.

An avid reader in her teens, her fascination with Japanese anime eventually led her to the universe of fan fiction, which became her on-again, off-again hobby for the next ten years. During that time she amassed a following of fans that, by her own admission, she would never be able to live without. It was those fans who encouraged her to step beyond the fan fiction realm and try her talent in the publishing world.

N. Isabelle Blanco now has three novellas and two full-length novels under her belt, and spends her days working as an author, web programmer, marketer, and graphic designer. That is when she isn't handling her "spawn", as she calls her son, and brainstorming with him about his future career as a comic book illustrator.

Due to the daily spam comments I have been getting lately and to avoid the annoying word verification, Anonymous comments are no more. I do not want bargains on bags, watches, jerseys, boots and other crap. Geez, they could at least spam me with book and movie stuff, I would be somewhat interested LOL! Thank you :D
