Synopsis from Goodreads

Clinging to their courage in a crumbling world, Aislinn and Fionn vow to save Earth, no matter what it takes.

In a post-apocalyptic world where most people have been slaughtered, the Celtic gods and a few humans with magic are all that stand between survival and Earth falling into alien hands. The combination of dark sorcery leveraged by the enemy is daunting. Destruction is all but certain if the small enclaves of humans who are left can’t get past their distrust of the Celts.

Captured by the enemy, Aislinn Lenear wonders if she’ll ever see her bond wolf or Fionn, a Celtic god, again. She’s had nothing but her wits to rely on for years. They haven’t failed her yet, but escape from her current predicament seems remote.

An enticing blend of urban fantasy and romance, this second volume of the Earth Reclaimed Series provides fertile ground for Aislinn and Fionn’s relationship to deepen. Headstrong and independent, the pair runs up against each other’s demands time and time again. Fireworks spark. In the end, they learn to savor every moment in a bittersweet world where each day may well be their last.

Earth's Blood picks up right where Earth's Requiem left off. Aislinn has been betrayed by someone she thought she knew and now she has been captured by the enemy. Fionn is at a loss what to do. On top of that, they are running out of time. They thought they had enough time to figure out what to do about the Lemurians and the dark gods, but they have decided to bring the war to them. Now they are under attack and the world as they know it will be lost unless Aislinn, Fionn and his gang can find a way to stop them.

Gimpel wasted no time with the action here. I was hooked from page one. This time around the main focus is trying to find out how to save what is left of Earth. Aislinn has found a secret the Lemurians have been keeping. This secret is big and changes everything her and Fionn thought they knew. They realize that they are dealing with more than just the Lemurians and the dark gods. I love Gimpel's imagination. There is really nothing like it. When she writes a villain (or villains), she goes all out. The aliens in this story have taken control of Earth and are so cocky. They think they will come out on top because they think they are invincible. I love that even from the first book, they learn sticking together is the best way to fight the enemies. Some of the characters may or may not like or trust each other, but they know they have no choice. I love where this went because we saw different sides to certain characters.

And, oh boy, how I love these characters. Aislinn is still has strong and as stubborn as ever. This definitely helps her to stay alive as she is now a prisoner to the Lemurians. I love that she always tries to keep her head on. She always thinks of those she loves and how best to keep them safe. Fionn is a Celtic god who is so in love with Aislinn and I am definitely in love with him. I really never expected this series to be so steamy, but it is. It really is. Aislinn and Fionn will burn up the pages, they are so hot together. I love them together, I love that they are partners in this book. Aislinn lets Fionn know that she will be included in everything and will do all she can to save the world. They really need to stick together considering a surprise that arises for them in the book.

I also enjoyed Fionn's gang; Gwydion, Bran, and Arawn. Fionn and Gwydion are the main ones and we learned that they have had a feud of sorts. I love where this went as well. We also have my favorite, Rune, Aislinn's bond mate. He is a protective wolf that loves Aislinn. He would risk his life for her and I loved him even more in the sequel. Most surprisingly was Dewi. I didn't like Dewi the dragon that much in the first book. I must say, my opinion of her changed in this book though. I saw a different side of her here. She is still bossy and thinks she is above everyone, but still.

This is one of my favorite reads so far this year. Gimpel is such a talented author. Everyone knows how much I love Urban Fantasy and this hits all the right notes. The characters are larger than life and memorable. It is hard to find someone that you don't love. The story is so detailed and well put together. It is important to read the first book the really get a feeling for the world in this series though. Not only the world, but the villains as well. You slowly learn with each chapter just how evil the Lemurians and dark gods are. I love great villains in my books and these guys have it, that is for sure. Wow, are these guys messed up. This story is full of action, magic, great characters, great worldbuilding, and so much more. I highly recommend this to people who love Urban Fantasy. Do not miss this series!

  1. Thank you so much for inviting me back and for loving the Earth Reclaimed world as much as I do. Fionn, Aislinn, and the rest of the cast are thrilled to be featured on your blog.

    1. Thank you, Ann. You are more than welcome here anytime. I can't wait for book 3. Thank you so much again hon :)

  2. Hi Diana,
I'm just returning from a month long trip to Antarctica. I had a friend filling in for me while I was gone, but I wanted to thank you personally for your over-the-top review of Earth's Blood. You've made my writer's soul very happy. If it wouldn't be too much trouble, I'd love it if you could post your review on Amazon.

Due to the daily spam comments I have been getting lately and to avoid the annoying word verification, Anonymous comments are no more. I do not want bargains on bags, watches, jerseys, boots and other crap. Geez, they could at least spam me with book and movie stuff, I would be somewhat interested LOL! Thank you :D
