Synopsis from Goodreads

For fans of Fifty Shades of Grey and Bared to You comes an erotic, emotionally charged romance between a powerful man who’s never heard “no” and a fiery woman who says “yes” on her own terms.

He was the one man I couldn’t avoid. And the one man I couldn’t resist.

Damien Stark could have his way with any woman. He was sexy, confident, and commanding: Anything he wanted, he got. And what he wanted was me.

Our attraction was unmistakable, almost beyond control, but as much as I ached to be his, I feared the pressures of his demands. Submitting to Damien meant I had to bare the darkest truth about my past—and risk breaking us apart.

But Damien was haunted, too. And as our passion came to obsess us both, his secrets threatened to destroy him—and us—forever.

Release Me is an erotic romance intended for mature audiences.

Release Me is the first book in the Stark Trilogy. In this book we follow a woman named Nikki. Nikki is looking to start a new life. She was a pageant queen who just recently graduated with a degree in science. While at a party, Nikki meets up with a famous former tennis player named Damian who is a very rich man. Damian takes a liking to Nikki instantly and vice versa. They both have secrets that they want to hide from each other. Things are haunting them that they can't run away from, but Damian wants to change all of that.

This is my first read from J. Kenner and it won't be my last. I own quite a bit of her work now Yeah, she is that good. Kenner has really put together a world that is sexy and full of mystery. Nikki and Damien's relationship is scorching. This is said to be a BDSM read, but there isn't much of that really. It is more kinky though, no doubt about that. You will be fanning yourself hours after you are done with this. Damian was a force to be reckoned with. When he appeared in the book, he really took up the page. He had a great presence in the book and Nikki knew that as well. Not to mention, Damian is quite creative when seducing a woman. Limo, ice cubes and pearls, that is all you need to know. Someone give this man an award!

I really enjoyed Nikki. She wasn't a timid little flower. She was smart and witty and was able to stand up for herself, except for when it came to her mother. Her mother wasn't a bright spot to say the least. I do have a feeling she will be playing more of a role later in the series. She seems quite shallow and wants her daughter to be the same. I hope we see Nikki stick up for herself against her.

This, of course, will be put with the Fifty Shades club, but I have to say, it is a bit different. One thing that really caught my eye was Kenner's style. I really like it a lot. I look forward to reading her other works. I also like the story. This is mainly a character driven story, but we learn the characters have quite a few demons. They both seem to need each other, but it seems Damien's demons are still haunting him. Something has happened to the last girlfriend he had, so there is a mystery of who Damien really is. Is someone setting him up or what? I can't wait to find out.

There are a few things here and there that were sort of strange for me. For instance, Damien seems to have been keeping tabs on Nikki since he met her years ago at a pageant. It may not be so much of a coincidence they met. I couldn't help but imagine Tony Stark as Damien. The last name, Stark, pretty much sealed that. Damien is the rated R version of Tony Stark and I love it. Damien and Nikki have issues that need solving pronto and I am going to be there every page of the way. You should be too. This book is riveting and insanely hot, end of story.

Due to the daily spam comments I have been getting lately and to avoid the annoying word verification, Anonymous comments are no more. I do not want bargains on bags, watches, jerseys, boots and other crap. Geez, they could at least spam me with book and movie stuff, I would be somewhat interested LOL! Thank you :D
