Synopsis from Goodreads

Destiny Quinn lives for her job. She loves being an IT Recruiter, traveling nationwide. But all work and no play has left her feeling restless. It's been a year since she's gone out on a date — or slept with a man. Suddenly, Destiny can't think about anything else. She's not looking for a relationship, just a good time and a sexy diversion. One steamy night of mind-blowing pleasure, then maybe she can get back to business.

Christian LaCosta wants to prove to his family — and himself — that he is relationship material. Lately, it seems like everyone around him is in love. Maybe it's time to give up the fast life and fast women, quit being the odd man out. Christian decides to take the plunge and join an online dating service. When he's unwittingly hooked up with a luscious neighbor named Destiny, the coincidence is too much. Christian doesn't believe in fate, but one look at Destiny, and he's seeing a whole new future. Now he must convince this career-driven beauty that work isn't everything. Take a chance on them, and she can have it all.

WARNING: Food Play, Hot Sex, Latin Hunk

Playing with Destiny is a novella that follows a woman named Destiny. Destiny is a hard working woman. She puts every minute of everyday into her as an IT recruiter. This sadly doesn't leave room for much else in her life though. That is fine with Destiny until she realizes that she hasn't been with a man for over a year. Ok, now something has got to change. She is not looking for Mr. Right, just Mr. Right Now. So she signs up to a dating service that leads her to cooking class for a date. She isn't expecting much until Christian walks in. Why would a man like him need a dating service? She doesn't know why, but she sure as hell with find out.

This is another fun and sexy read from Escalera that made me wish it were longer. The chemistry was off the charts. Destiny was a very interesting read. I wanted to strangle her at first, won't lie. She came off quite selfish at first. Just thinking of herself and her job and nothing else. But I loved how much we learn about Destiny. Her last relationship was terrible. The man she was with has been following her. No matter where she goes, he seems to be near. That is why she took the job she has. She has the ability to travel anywhere she wants and it keeps herself safe. I loved Christian. Oh man, he was delicious. Sexy and he can cook? Yes please! Christian loves women. He loves them and he has had plenty of them. He, however, is tired of scouring the bars for women. His brothers have their loved ones and he is about to become an uncle. He wants what they have. He is slowly finding that in Destiny though.

I loved what Destiny and Christian shared. They find out that they live in the exact same building and never met each other. Destiny wants to keep Christian at an arm's length. She has a hard time trusting men given her ex-boyfriend. I couldn't blame her for being apprehensive. I loved the confrontation we got concerning him. I do wish we got more of this fight though. It was all over too quickly for me. But still, I liked what we got. I loved that Christian didn't give up on her. Destiny does something really stupid near the end of the book. It had me screaming at her. Thank God for grandmas. Her relationship with her grandmother was great. They were like best friends and she really talked a lot of sense into her.

This was such a great read. Christian and Destiny steamed up the pages. I loved how close they got in this book and how Christian looked out for Destiny. I loved them together so much. This book really was about Destiny finding herself and stop being scared. She may seem strong and independent, but she has been running away and she never really noticed. This was a great read and I loved it. Just as good as The Right Temptation. Ia m dying more from this steamy series. If you love sexy men that can cook and can kickass, this is definitely worth picking up.

    1. You are so welcome again hon. I am so glad you like it. It was a great read :)

Due to the daily spam comments I have been getting lately and to avoid the annoying word verification, Anonymous comments are no more. I do not want bargains on bags, watches, jerseys, boots and other crap. Geez, they could at least spam me with book and movie stuff, I would be somewhat interested LOL! Thank you :D
