Synopsis from Goodreads
Jenna Thanatos thought she was ordinary; just your everyday girl with a healthy sexual appetite and a few kinks to boot. After moving to Maine to be closer to her boyfriend, Kyle, Jenna was starting a new chapter in her life. Little did she know, this chapter had more to offer than she ever thought possible.

One night of fun exhibitionism turns Jenna’s world upside down and shoves her face first into a world she never knew existed. Harbinger. Female Harbinger. The thing of legends, a myth foretold by ancient seers, but it couldn’t be true. She was just her. Besides, things like that didn’t exist. After being kidnapped, shot at, chased, and sprouting wings, she wasn’t so sure anymore.

Timoteus, an ancient Harbinger, has been searching for Jenna for years after finding out that she truly did exist, keeping a long-term promise to an old friend to watch over his family line. His duties were to protect her, train her, and make the foretold prophecy come to fruition. After saving Jenna, they find themselves still being hunted, landing Tim right in the middle of an operation he never dreamed could exist.

Benneit Colebrook took over his father’s business after his death last year. When the mention of a female Harbinger was whispered in his ear, he knew he had to have the rare and precious being to add to his collection. And, he would do anything to get her.

Jenna now finds herself in an underground compound with two sexy as hell men, hiding away from the people hell-bent on taking her. Why? She has no clue. Yesterday she was normal, today she’s not only in a fight for her life, but also the lives of all beings that have been disappearing for centuries.

Will Jenna be able to accept who she is and face this new world head-on, or will everything come crumbling down before she has a fighting chance?

Twice Lost was quite the exciting read. I didn't know what I was in for, but I knew it was going to be sexy. I was right. Jenna is a woman that is being hunted, but she doesn't know it yet. But she quickly finds herself in a race for her life after a nighy of terror. She makes the discovery that she is the only female Harbinger ever. That makes her one very hot commodity and she doesn't like it one bit. Now she is fighting to stay alive while still coming to terms with what she is.

I really enjoyed this. The opening chapter really set an amazing mood. It is super dark and terrifying. I got the shivers just thinking about it. Field has some great attention for detail I noticed. I enjoy her writing a lot.

I wasn't a big fan of our lead, Jenna, at first. Her way of thinking and her reaction to certain situations made me put her on the TSTL list pretty fast. For instance, after she goes through this tragic ordeal, she immediately puts her trust in someone she barely knows. A lawyer named Ben who knew her boyfriend. What is worse, she comments on the weird vibe she gets from him, but that goes away once he says some sweet nothings. It drove me nuts. No woman should act that way after what happened to you. She just didn't have much of a backbone or dignity. That changes and I am so happy it did. I would not have enjoyed this book if it didn't. All I am saying is a big sexual appetite does not mean you let everyone stomp all over you. I wish she were more like Bo from Lost Girl. She is a succubus, yes, but she doesn't take crap from anyone, even people she likes.

I loved the men in this book as well. Oh, so many good ones to choose from. Tim and Tye were great. They could be pretty scary when necessary. I loved the chemistry they had together. They felt more like brothers than friends to me. We also have Gabe who met about halfway. Trust me, there was a lot of drool on my part when we meet Gabe. I love what we find out about him. Very unique concept and scary as hell.

I really loved where the story took us. Our villain is as evil as they come. The things our heroes discover are awful. I can't believe what happens especially near the end. That was tough. I couldn't believe it. Field did a great job building up this world and these characters.

This was an exciting read. I love Paranormal Romance and this is a winner. Field definitely has a voice. Her world is different and refreshing. I love when authors focus on creatures that aren't all that common. This book is full of mystery and horror. I also enjoyed the laughs. You are going to love when these characters interact. Again, lots of great chemistry. An amazing start to a new series. I am more than excited for more especially after the little teaser at the end. Definitely recommended.

About Jennifer Field

Jennifer lives in Massachusetts and works full-time in the Bridal Industry. With a daytime job surrounded by simple romance, it is her love for adventure that makes her who she is. She has a love for all things 80’s and has a very mild Diet Coke addiction. As an avid mountain climber, it is not unusual for Jennifer to be hanging off a 5.9 in the Adirondacks or the Shawangunk Mountain ranges. During the off season of climbing, also known as winter, she attends the New England Center for Circus Arts where she studies static trapeze (think Cirque rather than circus). She is an only child so she has her mother to thank for her over active imagination and knack for storytelling. Over the years she has written several short stories of the “naughty” nature for friends but  never had envisioned herself as a writer; Just someone who enjoyed telling a steamy story from time to time. Throughout school she had difficulty with spelling and English, but it never stopped her love for reading, especially a good romance, horror or mystery! To this day she still spells so poorly that even spell check has to ask what the heck she is trying to spell.

Her latest book is the paranormal erotica, Twice Lost.

I loved spending time in Macon with Oliver and his family, but I was glad once we got back to New York. I had him all to myself, and as selfish as it sounded, I loved it when we were alone. New York held the most memories for me with him.
I think your uncle is warming to me,” I mused as we sat eating the dinner that Mrs. Davis had prepared for us. “He actually wished me a safe trip when we left this morning.”
It’s definitely progress,” Oliver chuckled.
Now that we’re back in New York, you need to tell me what you want to do for your birthday. It’s only a few weeks away.”
Well, we are fucking on my desk at work for sure. You promised me,” he winked, licking his lips. Damn him! He was too sexy for words.
You’re sex crazed,” I giggled, shaking my head. “What about going out to dinner somewhere? We could go away for a weekend, too.”
A dirty weekend away?” I threw my napkin at him. “What?”
Stop thinking about sex!”
That’s difficult. I happen to have an incredibly sexy girlfriend that I want to fuck all the time.”
If you think about it, you’re the reason I’m sex crazed. This is your entire fault, Jade.”
Oh, that’s right—blame it all on me,” I laughed, taking a sip of wine.
Do you have any idea how happy you make me?”
No, but I know how happy you make me.”
I’m not hungry anymore.” Oliver suddenly had that look in his eyes again. The ‘I’m going to rip the clothes from your body and fuck you’ look. Instantly, I had to hold my legs together. It looked like he was going to try a prove a point.
You’ve hardly eaten. I hope you’re not coming down with anything,” I replied, innocently.
I’m not coming down with anything, but I certainly will be going down on something tonight.”
Oh, God,” I whimpered, choking on my sip of wine.
All this sex talk is making me horny. I’m going to give you a thirty second head start, then I’m planning on making you cum as many times as I can on my staircase. There are thirty four steps total. I’m thinking that’s at least ten orgasms I’ll be able to give you, maybe more, until I throw you on my bed and slide my cock inside you.” I couldn’t move. I sat there gawking at him. Ten orgasms. I couldn’t handle that! “Run Jade, I mean it. I’ll start on this table if I have to.” I stood up and ran. My heart was pounding hard in my chest. Why was I running anyway? I wanted Oliver to catch me.
I managed five steps on the staircase before he caught me from behind. “That was a feeble attempt to try and get away. Anyone would think you wanted me to catch you,” he whispered into my ear, sucking on my earlobe as his hands moved to undo the buttons on my jeans. “I’m going to drive you crazy, Beautiful. I hope you’re ready.” I couldn’t answer; his hands had already slipped inside my jeans and I was lost. Oliver began to put pressure on my sex through my panties. Why didn’t he just push my panties to the side? It was so frustrating. “Do you like that, Beautiful? I can feel your panties getting damper. How many pairs have I ruined now?”
Too many to count,” I panted, gripping the banister for support as he sped up the movement of his hand. “W…What about Mrs. Davis?”
She’s staying with a friend tonight. We’re all alone.” I could hear his smirk as he planted kisses down my neck. Starting to climb already, I knew my first orgasm was quickly approaching. “That’s it, Jade, give it up. I want to hear you let it all out.” I came, groaning out a string of nonsensical words, trying to hold myself up as I came undone. “I’ll give you a minute this time to compose yourself and run.”
Are you being serious?” I gasped, still clutching the stairs. “I can hardly stand!”
A minute and a half then,” he smirked, tilting his head. “You can manage a few more steps, Jade.” I wasn’t sure I could. “Just put one foot in front of the other.”
Alright, Mr. Cocky.”
Interesting choice of words.” I rolled my eyes and began to take a few unsteady steps, but it was difficult when I was still in a state of bliss. “You’re making this too easy,” he chuckled, pulling me so I was facing him. He backed me against the railing, gazing down at my chest. With one swift tug, he pulled my top over my head. “I’ll never get enough of undressing you,” he mused, running his fingertips across the top of my breasts and then into my bra, stroking my aching nipples. While his one hand continued to tease my sensitive skin, his other went south and slid right inside my panties. “Fuck, I got you well and truly worked up, didn’t I?” He ran his fingers through my slick folds, and I had to bite my lip to fight the pleasure. I had no control over myself when it came this man. “Shit, I can’t wait to fuck you. I can feel my cock already leaking at the thought.”
Ugh, Oliver, you can’t say stuff like that to me!”
Is gets you excited. I know you love it when I talk dirty.” He slid his fingers inside me and began another excruciating pace. “Do you know what I’m going to do after this?” he whispered, biting down on my left nipple through my bra. I couldn’t help but cry out—it felt amazing. “I’m going to strip you naked and taste you. You know I love eating you out.” I wasn’t going to survive the night, but if this was how it ended, death by an Oliver orgasm was the way to go.

Synopsis from KaSonndra Leigh
What does that word mean?
Kindness. Generosity... Love?
None of that applies to mine.
I think we should try vicious, corrupt...
I am not an innocent.
I do not believe in fate.
Revenge should have its moment to shine.
I’ve been a slave to circumstance...
A child of the shadows.
Now, I embrace the gloom and thrive inside it.
Revenge. Love.
Vengeance. Salvation.
The battle inside me rages on.
At least it does until one day when... I find her.
I do not understand.
I cannot allow myself to believe that...

There is light inside the darkness.

10 Fun Facts about the Musical Interlude Series

  1. Erin’s favorite flavor of ice cream is lime sherbet. She eats tons of it when she’s feeling stressed out.
  1. I wrote Alese and Nikolai’s story in the Dark Duet long before Alek and Erin began their Prelude together. At that time, the book had a different name.
  1. The gondolas in Venice are painted black in order to prevent disputes between rival water clubs. However, the red gondola from An Aria in Venice does exist.
  1. Alek’s unique blue-brown eyes are the result of a pigmentation disorder called heterochromia. Thousands of people throughout the world suffer from this are, but intriguing disease.
  1. Aleksandr Dostovsky has an American mother and a Russian father.
  1. Most people consider Nikolai Belikov to be androgynous. He most resembles a muscular version of supermodel Andrej Peijic.
  1. Alek began studying music and composition at the tender age of six. He’s ambidextrous and has the ability to learn a new instrument rather quickly. At 22, he became a symphonic prodigy, one of the youngest Maestros to ever lead a full orchestra.
  1. Both Erin Angelo (Alek’s girl) and Alese Ballentine (Nikolai’s girl) are from Lafayette, Louisiana.
  1. All of the books in the Musical Interlude series are edgy, steamy and unique. The story in the Dark Duet is the most taboo of them all so far. It is not for the faint of heart. I didn’t pull any punches. In the words of the infamous Nikolai Belikov: “You’ve been warned.”

About KaSonndra Leigh
Author of the Lost Immortals Saga and the Seraphine Trilogy. I'm also a mother, blogger, reader, gardener, home renovator, and a slayer of Egyptian mummies in Tomb Raider. I believe in karma, coffee, and seriously wish that the producers of Xena would bring my favorite show ever back.
Strange things about me: everything. I am strange, odd, unusual, and generally tend to make people think I swooped down from another planet. I don't know. Maybe I did. Who knows? I'm also a member of the #zombiesurvivalcrew on twitter. So if you need protection from the undead then don't hesitate to call on us.

I was born in the race-car city of Charlotte, NC, and now live in the City of Alchemy and Medicine, NC, when I'm not hanging out in Bardonia (Lost Immortals). Most of my characters are based on people that I've met throughout my travels and adventures. People tend to stop and start conversations with me as if I've known them my entire life. Does this freak me out? Not really. My mom says that one day I'll get kidnapped by one of them. I told her that if it weren't for these lovely people then I wouldn't be able to create the stories that I do.

I have many favorite authors but there are some who truly rock my socks: Octavia Butler, Anne Rice, Kami Garcia, J.K. Rowling, Dean Koontz (on his good-book days), Stephen King (same as DK) Ann Radcliffe, Mary Shelley, Elizabeth Kostova, and so many more...

Some other common tidbits...hmm. I've watched the movie Under the Tuscan Sun almost 200 times. Seriously, the way I see it is if I keep watching it enough, then suddenly the house that Diane Lane lives in will magically appear in my backyard. I know. I have a huge imagination!

Condemned by B.L. Wilde
Ten years served for a crime he didn’t commit. Ten years to lose everything he ever knew. Finally released from prison, Clayton McGuire is on a mission and nothing will stand in his way. He is determined to get revenge against the gang that set him up and take back what was stolen from him all those years ago.
Clay will stop at nothing to win back his honor and the heart of the only woman he has ever loved. Will she take him back when he finds her? Or will he be condemned to live a life without his soulmate?
I am a huge fan of Wilde's work. I love her Seductors series, so I was very excited for this read. I am proud to announce Wilde has done it again. Clay was definitely a bad boy to root for. He has been wrongfully committed for murder and wants to clear his name. And worse, he has loss the one thing that kept him going in prison - the love of his life, Brooke. He is tough and determined/ You will totally get behind him fighting to get his life back and it starts and ends with Brooke. You do see where the story is going early on, but that doesn't take away from the end result. This was fast paced and kept my attention from beginning to end. You do understand the predicament Brooke was put in. I knew things were going to get crazy, but man, they were really crazy. And as I would expect from Wilde, super hot scenes from Clay and Brooke. I think her stories should come with some kind of warning label or something. Overall, this was an amazing short from Wilde.
Renegade by Jeanne McDonald
A chance meeting between a rookie cop and a common criminal who’s searching for a way out.
An unforeseen circumstance.  An instant attraction.  A magnetic connection.
Tattooed, pierced, and foul-mouthed, she can’t help but be drawn to him.
Two people entirely wrong for one another, yet so perfectly right.
When their worlds collide, Lucy Diamond will learn the true meaning of love and sacrifice as she embarks on the road of no return with bad boy Jude Wallace.
Like a thief in the night, love will take them both by surprise.
I have never read anything by McDonald, but after this, you bet I will. I loved this from the first sentence. Heck, actually the title chapter . I loved those. I am a huge Beatles fan and I loved how every title chapter was a Beatles song. It immediately put a smile on my face. I love how we are put into the action very quickly. Lucy is put into a situation she never expected and she doesn't seem to realize how bad it is. But her deep depression sends her in the life a their named Jude. Lucy and Jude, get it? I felt like watching Across the Universe when this was done. Stories aren't the same, but still. Nonetheless, the chemistry between them could have burned up my ereader. That first kiss was to die for. Everything moved very fast in this story, but nothing was left out. I loved the mystery of how Lucy and Jude are tied together. It was quite a thrilling and action packed story even though it was short. The characters were easy to love and I wanted to stay with them long after the read was done. The only negative is that it was too short. I could have easily read 300 pages of this. I want to read 300 pages of this. I at least hope we get a story about Lucy's partner, Sarah. It hints at her past and I would like to know more about her. She seems very carefree and all over the place, but we see there is more there. Overall, this was a very good read and I am looking for more from McDonald.

 Desolation By Jo Matthews
Liam Jenkins grew up with everything he ever wanted. At age 17, his world is ripped apart and he finds himself without a home, without a car, and without money. His support system is gone and he is left to fend for himself. Not having any other option, Liam turns to sex and small crimes to survive.
When a beautiful woman chooses not to turn him into the cops but invites him to her hotel room instead, Liam’s world is flipped upside down again and everything he’s learned on the streets ceases to exist.
What will happen when one night with her isn’t enough? When she haunts his thoughts and dreams? When his past finally catches up with him, will he be able to start over? And will his mystery woman be there to see him through?
I have signed up for so many tours from Matthews and it is so nice to read something she has written. This was quite an interesting read. I wasn't sure what to make of our lead character Liam or some of the other characters as well. Liam is a rich kid who gets thrown out because he was defending his mother against his father. His dad was just fired and has become quite a drunk. But Liam manages to survive by stealing and having sex with pretty women. I felt bad for him, but there were times when I felt he doesn't feel as desperate as I  thought he should. He comes off cocky at times. But then again, homeless or not, apparently he was hot enough for any girl to want him. So maybe there was some pride in there, who knows. I liked the connection he had with Paige near the end, but I wish we saw more of it. We didn't get much of that. The book basically recaps his being thrown out at seventeen to him on the streets until he is twenty-three. Our thing that did upset me was his mother. I do like how she pays a part, but I hated her part in all of this. Liam tells us from the beginning both of his parents are rich. So the actions she takes makes no sense. She has to have connections. Hell, she has the money to leave, but what she did pissed me off. If you were a poor woman, I could understand you having no other choice, but you come from old money - an oil empire. You can't tell me you had no other options. Nonetheless, this was well written and beautifully told. It could be a bit unrealistic at times though especially at the end. Won't complain too much about it because it was the outcome I wanted. Still, I enjoyed this read a lot.
Low By Mary Elizabeth
Lowen Seely has been forced into making bad choices his whole life but none as consequential as the one that lands him behind bars. He thought times were tough before he was locked up; the boy from the hood learns living a law-abiding life is nearly impossible with a felony record.
He finds hope in Poesy Ashby, the girl who kissed him through glass partitions every weekend for two years.
Not everything is simple, but in her he finds strength.
In her, he is brave.
Even crooks love.
When Lowen and Poesy stare poverty in the face, he has another choice to make.
And this time, she’s driving
I really liked this one. This is my first read from Mary Elizabeth and I really love her style. I loved how authentic this story felt. It really shows you what happens when you are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Lowen was a character you are instantly sympathetic towards. He is doing all he can to take care of his family. His father is in jail and his mother is physically disabled from her job. He had to quit school to support them. Seeing Lowen's ups and downs was truly traumatic. You feel sorry for him. I really like Poesy. We see more of her in the second half of the story. You can tell she is the rock of the relationship. She keeps her hopes up, but as always, life has a way of knocking that out of you sometimes. Elizabeth has done such a great job with this story. The only thing that drove me crazy was the ending. I turned hoping for another chapter. I couldn't believe it stopped there. I really wanted to know more. But still this was a great read. Again, very realistic. Definitely things in life we all could relate to.
Don't Let Me Go By Sarah Elizabeth
Based almost entirely on body language, intimate feelings can develop within less than a minute of meeting someone.
Additionally, meeting in a dangerous situation increases the chances of falling in love.
This is that fall.
Where meeting her eyes means seeing it through.
Following down from the start to don’t let me go.
From roll up to run.
Between old glory and new beginnings.
This is what happens when a lamb is carried to the slaughter by courage, instead of a cowardly lion.
I have to say this was a bit different for me. This story didn't really flow like the others. It was actually kind of difficult. We are thrust into a story and are immediately introduced to about five different characters. I honestly can't tell you much about anyone because there isn't a lot given. We learn that they run drugs and one of their own, Rhys, has stolen from them. The dialogue and mannerisms in this book made no sense at times. We are told that the story is in 2011, but the characters sound like a gang from the 1950s. I honestly didn't know whether they were young or not until we are given an age. It was kind of confusing. Then there was the love story. Let me say this, if you are going to have a story with young people, please clarify the age as soon as possible. Our lead, CL, is twenty-three years old. But the love interest, Kenny (Lamb, and yes she is a girl) is someone in high school and she seems pretty young. As a matter of fact, him and the other guys call her "kid" all the time. But he is clearly lusting after her. I couldn't get into the connection early on because I just kept screaming "Pedo!" in my head. We only learn near the end that she is eighteen. Worse yet, he never bothers to ask her age before he starts staring at her.
Also something that pissed me off is we don't know the reason behind why Rhys did what he did. As a matter of fact, at the end, something happens. But why it happened makes no sense. What they have been searching for is right there. Why did it need to go that far? It was unnecessary when you think about it. So not only was it unnecessary, but what about Lamb through all of this. We don't know whether Lamb is protecting him or not. She is related to him, but she doesn't seem all that worried. Did they like each other? Did she know what he did? We never know. I felt like I was given only part of the story. I can't describe these characters. I can't tell you who is who. We aren't given much.  All we know is CL wants out, but he needs to find out how. These guys have been more than friends, they were like brothers. But can he really choose them even if what they were doing was wrong? I think the story would have been told better if it were in a novel. There are too many characters and a lot more of the story that just weren't fully fleshed out here. There is something here, but this really felt crammed and it was confusing to follow at times.

Jeanne McDonald
Jeanne McDonald began telling stories at the ripe young age of five, when her mother considered the truth to be a lie due to her extensive embellishment to the retelling of an event.  She wrote her first short story when she was twelve years old, and at the age of sixteen she tried her hand at poetry.  She reconnected with her love for writing in 2010 thanks to the encouragement of a dear friend.
Her passions include a "mild" Starbucks addiction, music, reading, quotes, movies, and romance.  When she's not spending time with her family, she can be found reading, writing, chatting with her friends or diligently working toward her bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology.  A proud Texan, Jeanne currently resides in the Dallas/Fort Worth area with her family.

Mary Elizabeth
Mary Elizabeth is an up and coming author who finds words in chaos, writing stories about the skeletons hanging in your closets. Known as The Realist, she is one half of The Elizabeths—a duo brave enough to never hide the truth. Born and raised in Southern California, she’s a wife, mother of four beautiful children, and dog tamer to one enthusiastic Pit Bull and a prissy Chihuahua. She’s a hairstylist by day but contemporary fiction, new adult author by night. Mary can often be found finger twirling her hair and chewing on a stick of licorice while writing and rewriting a sentence over and over until it’s perfect. She discovered her talent for tale-telling accidentally, but literature is in her chokehold. And she’s not letting go until every story is told.
